Police FC was founded in 2001, originally based in the former Rutonde Commune and now located in the Rwamagana district in the Eastern Province of Rwanda.
It began playing in the second division of the Rwandan Football Federation (FERWAFA). The team consisted of police officers as well as civilian youths from Rwamagana. The police team was led by CP Steven Barinda, who was the president at the time.
After five years in the second division, the team won the championship and earned the right to be promoted to the first division in 2006. Police FC was then managed by coach named Rutayisire.
During its journey, Police FC won 5 trophies, including 1 Rwanda Super Cup, 1 Heroes Cup, and 3 Peace Cups.
The team currently trains at Kigali Pelé Stadium and is managed by Ben Moussa.
